Our Story

  • 2006
Meg Brown Home Furnishings opened its doors in March 2006, when Davin and Meg Brown decided to combine their talents and continue Davin’s family legacy in the furniture business. Meg’s residential and commercial design experience, combined with Davin’s years of operations experience at his grandfather’s and uncle’s stores, Hendricks Furniture and Boyles Furniture, made them the perfect team. Their mission was to pair fashion-forward furniture and interior design with an easy ordering and delivery process.
  • 2009
Meg Brown hosted its first Warehouse Sale, bringing in hundreds of shoppers for a one-day sale featuring slow-moving merchandise, slightly damaged goods, and customer returns. The success of the Warehouse Sale made it an obvious choice for an annual event.
  • 2012
Meg Brown Home expanded its brand offerings to include Century, Sherrill, and Hancock & Moore. Meg Brown was on its way to becoming a high-end design destination, in addition to its reputation for value-priced furniture.
  • 2020
In 2020, Meg Brown expanded by building a new on-site warehouse and adding showroom space, growing from 10,000 to 15,000 square feet, while expanding warehouse capacity to 10,000 square feet. The launch of the Outlet introduced a new price point, broadening the brand’s offerings.
  • 2025
Building on years of offering a handful of outdoor brands, Meg Brown Home built a new 2,000-square-foot outdoor patio connected to the building. The new space features top brands such as Lane Venture, Woodard, Summer Classics, Polywood, Sunset West, and South Seas.
  • 2026
Meg Brown Home expanded to the Lake Norman area with the opening of a new store off Brawley School Road, offering brands such as Sherrill, Hancock & Moore, Lee, Century, Hooker, Woodbridge, and King Hickory. The smaller-footprint store places a greater focus on the design side of the business while introducing some of the best names in furniture to the Lake Norman market.
  • Today
Today, our mission remains the same as when we started: to provide the personal, family-oriented touch that online retailers and big-box stores cannot offer. As a family-owned business, we understand that you are inviting us into your home, and we remain committed to delivering exceptional service and that personal touch in every interaction.

Our Roots

Hendrick's Furniture 1984

Davin’s grandfather, Clyde Hendricks, started Hendricks Furniture in Mocksville, NC, in 1966, where he sold some of the same brands we sell today, including Century, Vanguard, and Lexington.
